BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) - Retired carousel horses that were destined for the landfill are being given a second life thanks to a new project by the Broome County Arts Council.

On September 9th, a press conference is set to be held at Mirabito Stadium to unveil four restored carousel horses.

The carousel horses were restored by local artists through the Broome County Arts Council's Carousel Horse Project. The project turns the retired carousel horses into vibrant eye-catching works of art.

The theme of each horse represents one of the organizations supporting the restoration including the Binghamton Arts & Athletic Community Fund, Broome County Arts Council, Binghamton Rumble Ponies and the Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce.
