BEAVER, WV (WVNS) -- A Raleigh County woman was arrested during a traffic stop for possession of narcotics.

According to a Facebook post shared by the Raleigh County Sheriff's Office, officers conducted a traffic stop on September 8, 2025. Cpl. J. Howard called Cpl. J. Hensley and Grom, Hensley's K9 partner, to the scene. Drugs were detected by K9 Grom, leading officers to further investigate the vehicle.

Further investigation revealed an estimated 90 grams of methamphetamine that were seized by officers, the post states, and Melissa Raines was taken into custody for Possession with Intent to Deliver.
