ATHENS, WV (WVNS) - Are you looking to 'hit the ice' but haven't found the team to join? Well look no further than the Blue Ridge Pickup Hockey League.

This league is dedicated to community engagement and welcomes all players no matter the skill level. The league skates at the Hitachi Energy Arena in Wytheville, Virginia. League Administrator Kevin Jennings, who works right at Concord University, wants to bring in more players from the Mountain State.

"If people just got a chance to go out and see it, I think the sport speaks for itself. It's very fast paced. It's very exciting. Our team last year, the FPHL team who we work closely with, they made the playoffs for the first time last year. It was really excellent to see all of the fans out there and really getting into it," said Jennings
