People are being urged to check their purses and wallets for very rare £5 notes that could be worth a considerable sum. In 2016, micro-engraver Graham Short produced 10 distinctive £5 notes, each featuring minuscule portraits - and every note carries an insurance value of an enormous £50,000.

The initial collection, comprising 4 notes, displays an engraving of Jane Austen. Three notes were successfully discovered after being put into circulation in 2017 to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the novelist's passing, with one presented to the Jane Austen House Museum.

The remaining elusive note, bearing the serial number AM32 885554, was last used in Melton Mowbray and remains undiscovered.
