A registered sex offender from Medway who was found with 355 illegal images of children has been put behind bars. Haydon Sheard was previously convicted of possessing and distributing indecent images of children in 2018.

His sentence placed him on the sex offenders register and required him to comply with the restrictions of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).

He was required to notify Kent Police of any internet enabled devices in his possession so that monitoring software could be placed on them.

Two officers made an unannounced visit to his home address on April 25, and located him in a bedroom with a mobile phone. Police said he was acting suspiciously, and when the phone was checked.

It was found to have an indecent video of a child. Sheard was arrested and officers searched
