Google’s video-generating AI model, called Veo 3, can now generate videos in Full HD. The company announced yesterday that it has updated the AI model to support both a higher resolution and a new format.

With both Veo 3 and Veo 3 Fast models, Gemini can now generate videos in 1080p resolution. (Previous Gemini models could only handle 720p video.) These updated models can now also generate video in portrait format, meaning an aspect ratio of 9:16.

On top of these improvements, Google has updated the pricing for video generation using both Veo 3 and Veo 3 Fast. The price of Veo 3 video has gone down from $0.75/second to $0.40/second while the price of Veo 3 Fast has gone down from $0.40/second to $0.15/second.
