EAST HAVEN, Conn. — A motorcyclist remains hospitalized after a crash in East Haven on Monday afternoon. The vehicle driver also involved is now out of the hospital.

Police were called to a report of a serious crash involving a motorcycle in the area of Coe Avenue and Austin Avenue just before 3:30 p.m.

A preliminary investigation based on resident video and witness statements determined that a motorcycle traveling on Coe Avenue was speeding and passing vehicles when it collided with a vehicle that was turning left from Coe Avenue onto Austin Avenue. The speed limit posted in the area is 25 mph.

The motorcycle operator sustained head and leg injuries and was taken to the hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
