DWP Winter Fuel Payment: Six groups of state pensioners won't get £300 payment

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has revealed the groups of state pensioners who will not be eligible for the £300 Winter Fuel Allowance.

Six groups won't be eligible. People will not be eligible if they live outside England and Wales OR were in hospital getting free treatment for the whole of the week of 15 to 21 September 2025 and the year before that need permission to enter the UK and your granted leave says that you cannot claim public funds.

Ineligibility also extends to those who were incarcerated during the week of 15 to 21 September 2025, or those living in a care homes. Lastly, individuals will not qualify if they receive Universal Credit, Pension Credit, Income Support, income-based Jobse
