RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) - Wake County first responders were recognized Tuesday for their bravery in the line of duty at the Raleigh Chamber's First Responder Appreciate Breakfast.
One at a time, heroes from departments across Wake County and Raleigh stood to receive a special award and a recognition for their service to the community. Some of those honors are for saving people from bad wrecks, helping injured police officers, or quickly responding to medical emergencies.
"We ask you to run toward danger when the rest of us might flee," Governor Josh Stein told first responders in attendance at the event.
