The Knicks made adding veteran depth to their bench a priority this offseason with a host of summer additions, but their work may not be done. New York still has two open roster spots to fill before the start of training camp later this month, and one former Celtics guard remains on their radar. Ian Begley of SNY reports that the Knicks are interested in Malcolm Brogdon and free agent guard Landry Shamet as options to fill the team’s spots on the roster.

Brogdon, 32, spent last season with the Wizards and has been traded twice since Boston acquired him ahead of the 2022-23 season. The point guard won the Sixth Man of the Year award in Boston during the 2022-23 season but was dealt away in September 2023 in order for the Celtics to land Jrue Holiday ahead of their 2024 title run.
