The Pittsburgh Steelers are signing free agent safety Jabrill Peppers.
Steelers coach Mike Tomlin confirmed that Peppers was at the team's South Side facility on Tuesday and that Peppers would be signing a contract. Advertisement
"Highly familiar with him, not only from his time as a Cleveland Brown, but scouted him heavily when he came out of Michigan," Tomlin said.
The addition of Peppers comes after DeShon Elliott suffered a knee injury in Pittsburgh's season-opening win over the New York Jets. Tomlin said Elliott is out for Week 2 against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.
Peppers, 29, was cut by the New England Patriots before the start of the season. He played three years for the Pats after three seasons with the New York Giants and two with the Browns, who selected
