Team USA may have some explaining to do after appearing to use Rory McIlroy's silhouette on their official Ryder Cup merchandise.

With just weeks to go until the showdown between Europe and the USA at Bethpage Black in New York, fans have been queuing up to get their hands on some commemorative gear.

But one particular item on sale has already caught the eye of customers, and not for the right reasons.

A new Ralph Lauren T-shirt is available to purchase for $65 on the official Ryder Cup website in navy blue.

The top is listed as having a “bold golfer graphic”, and features a silhouette of a golfer, with the words “USA Ryder Cup 2025” printed in bold across it.

And while the steep price may raise a few eyebrows, it was the design itself which caused the biggest stir this time.
