Dozens of vehicles were impounded for speeding and impaired driving during an enforcement blitz on the Sea to Sky Highway late last month.
Over the last week of August, more than 60 vehicles were impounded, said B.C. highway patrol on Tuesday, with about half occurring on the Labour Day weekend.
“There are still too many people driving unimaginably fast or impaired on the Sea to Sky,” said Cpl. Michael McLaughlin. “And while it’s hard to believe, we keep catching people doing both at the same time.”
Police highlighted two egregious cases, including a blue pickup truck that blew through an 80 km/h zone in Porteau Cove on Aug. 27, going 132 km/h.
