BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — Samuel McQuade Jr, former president and chairman of the board of McQuade Distributing, passed away on Friday, August 5th.

McQuade will be best remembered for the annual McQuade Charity Softball Tournament, the largest single non-profit slow-pitch softball tournament in the United States. The tournament has raised more than $2 million for charity in its 50-year history.

McQuade is survived by his two daughters, six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. His family has requested that members of the public who wish to pay their respects donate to the McQuade Softball Charities in lieu of sending flowers.
