A little more than two months into his new job, Indiana University Northwest Chancellor Arrick Jackson is trying to bridge the gap between the school and the city’s businesspeople.

“You need employees, we need students,” Jackson said. “So, somewhere in between there, we’ll find that balance.”

Jackson was the guest speaker at the Gary Chamber of Commerce’s monthly luncheon Monday. He became the ninth chancellor of IUN on July 1, according to the university.

During his Monday talk, Jackson explained how the university gives back to the community and how he’d like to continue growing partnerships. IUN is committed to student success and community impact, he said.
