MULTNOMAH COUNTY Ore. (KPTV) - Over a year into a temporary change in ambulance staffing , response times in Multnomah County are improving.
However, paramedics warn that despite faster response times, there are growing issues in the quality of care.
Private medical transportation company AMR presented its findings at a county board meeting this morning - sharing both positive and negative results.
While response times are recovering from their record-low rates in 2022, there has been a significant increase in crashes, community complaints, and serious safety events.
Paramedic staffing is also decreasing, as staffing is now lower than at the start of the settlement agreement last July .
Some EMS workers fear that speed is being favored over competency.
The board responded to thes
