A man is currently in police custody after an incident in a Derriford street saw a man allegedly attacked on his own doorstep in broad daylight.

Police have confirmed they were alerted to an incident in Runway Road at 1.25pm on Monday, September 8 following a report that a male had been attacked at his own front door.

A police spokesperson told PlymouthLive: "It was reported an unknown male knocked on the victim's door and asked for the keys to his car, before assaulting the victim when he refused.

"The suspect then proceeded to damage the car which was parked outside.

"Officers attended and a man in his 20s and from Plymouth was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and criminal damage.
