It's time to think of a new password if you use the Plex streaming platform . Plex, which has been around since 2009 and had 16 million active users as of 2023, notified its users Tuesday of a potential data breach.

Plex says emails, usernames and hashed passwords for a limited group of customers were exposed, The Verge reports . Credit card data was not exposed, and while the passwords were not accessed in plain text, Plex is urging users to change them anyway.

A representative for Plex didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.
