RUSKIN, Fla. ( WWSB ) - A national animal rights group is offering a reward for information on a case of animal cruelty that leads to an arrest and conviction.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is offering up to $5,000 for information in a case Sept. 3, in which someone abandoned a dog on the side of a road, with its front and back legs tied together.

The small tan and white dog, believed to be a 2-year-old miniature pinscher and chihuahua mix, was found after he managed to get his front legs free and pull himself down the road — leaving cuts and scrapes on his back legs — to a nearby residence, where the homeowner alerted authorities.
