AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A convicted murderer has been on the loose for five days after slipping away from his work detail, according to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said Stacy Huggins reported to 4337 Wilson Road in Hephzibah, which is his assigned work site, on Sept. 4, and left on foot. That’s the last place he was seen.

Family members and local residents are searching for answers after an apparent domestic dispute ended with the murder of a 37-year-old and her mother in an Augusta parking lot.
