GLENWOOD, Iowa (WOWT) - A group of construction workers used a trampoline to save a boy from a burning house in a Glenwood neighborhood on Monday.

The fire happened at about 12:30 p.m. near the 200 block of South Vine Street, according to Glenwood Fire Chief Matt Gray.

Three Leick Construction employees happened to be working nearby and saw the house on fire, so they went into the home. They were able to rescue two women. But a boy, who was also the son of one of the other occupants, remained trapped on the upper floor — so the workers used a trampoline to get the child out, Gray told First Alert 6 on Tuesday.

All three construction workers were injured in the incident, including injuries to the face and eyes. One of them was transported to a burn unit in Lincoln.
