SHARPSVILLE, Pa - A Sharpsville woman charged in connection with a man's overdose death has learned her fate on Tuesday.
An employee at the Mercer County Clerk of Courts' Office tells 21 News 50-year-old Melody Taylor was handed an indefinite sentence of 15 months to five years in prison on a first-degree felony charge of drug delivery resulting in death.
Court records show Taylor pled guilty to this charge in April of 2025.
The charge stems from an investigation that began in February of 2023 when a 37-year-old man was found dead in the basement of a Delaware Township home. The coroner ruled that the man died from an overdose of fentanyl and xylazine.
Investigators found phone messages indicating that the victim had paid Taylor for opiates before his death.
