St. E's Youngstown looks to expand parking with purchase of 3.88 acres near downtown hospital

Mercy Health is growing in Youngstown; this time, the expansion is outside of the hospital, for additional parking.

Mercy Health has purchased 37 parcels near St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Youngstown for $3.25 million, according to the Mahoning County Auditor's website.

A Mercy Health spokesperson told 21 News the parcels were purchased for an expansion of parking near the facility.

In a statement provided to 21 News, "Mercy Health is adding new surface parking on land recently purchased near St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital. These updates are designed to improve parking and provide patients and visitors with more convenient access."

The parcels add up to 3.88 acres and the additional parking will come from parcels purchased on Lexington and Parmalee avenues and Covington Street.
