Police officers arrested a student wanted in connection to several felony charges Monday at Paradise High School, according to a news release by Paradise Police Department.

Police say they received information that the student may have been armed with a handgun.

The department requested school officials lock down the school to “ensure the safety of all students and staff” before officers made the arrest, according to the release.

Once the student was confirmed to be on campus, officials locked down the school and Paradise police officers arrested the student, without incident and without a firearm, according to the release. After the student was taken into custody, the school lifted its lockdown and resumed normal school operations.
