Although Burris volleyball didn't get the result it has become accustomed to at its annual Shondell Family Invitational, the Owls continued to make strides under first-year head coach Carey Fisher.

On Saturday, Sept. 6, Burris (8-1) hosted Fairfield, Trinity Lutheran, Southwood, Fishers (junior varsity) and Jay County in the 10th annual tournament. The Owls finished third in the best-of-three, round-robin tournament with a 2-0 sweep of Jay County (25-21, 25-15), a 2-1 loss to Trinity Lutheran (14-25, 25-22, 10-15) and a 2-1 win over Fishers JV (23-25, 25-18, 15-9).
