For more than 40 years, Oklahoma has required seat belts in cars. Generations of parents have buckled their children in the backseat before pulling out of the driveway. We all know why: Seat belts save lives.

And yet, every day, thousands of Oklahoma children ride to and from school on buses without that same basic protection. That doesn’t make sense.
