GRAND HAVEN, MI - A public hearing is scheduled for Tuesday night for a potential new gas station in Grand Haven.
The Grand Haven Planning Commission will meet at 7 p.m. Sept. 9 to vote, among other things, on a proposed Casey’s gas station for 1102 Robbins Road, the south end of the city.
“This would be one of their first locations in West Michigan, from what I’ve been told,” said Brian Urquhart, city planner.
The location was previously a Comerica Bank. Urquhart said the bank remodeled last year, but, by August, the site had been vacant for about a year.
The more than one-acre site is in a busy, commercial area next to a D&W Fresh Market, and a D&W Quick Stop gas station, Goodwill, Little Caesars, Pizza Hut and Walgreens among other businesses.
The gas station will be “rather small”
