McALLEN — Mujinzo’s executive chef Jesse Cavazos has been scoping out the competition nearby.

“They don’t know what’s coming,” he said. And with every dish I tried, it proved that statement.

Mujinzo is the newest business in the rapidly growing area of north McAllen. It’s been open about two months, and already has high praise from locals.

The restaurant is an American-Japanese fusion cuisine and sushi restaurant at 7100 N. 10th St.
