DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) -- A Durham man is now facing new charges after he gave a family member's name during an armed carjacking arrest last week, deputies said.
The incident was reported just before 10:30 p.m. Wednesday at a business parking lot on New Millennium Way for the report of an armed carjacking, according to a Durham County Sheriff's Office news release.
The victim offered the suspect a ride; however, the suspect pulled out a knife and ordered the victim to get out of the Infiniti SUV, deputies said.
The suspect then fled in the SUV.
Deputies found the stolen SUV a short time later on Drew Street.
"Witnesses at the location had observed the suspect run into a nearby home, where he was taken into custody without further incident," the news release said.
