Last week, Gov. Tina Kotek announced her picks for more than 100 positions on state boards and commissions .

Some former lawmakers were on that list. Notably: Betsy Johnson, a longtime state legislator, who in 2022 challenged Kotek for the governorship as an independent candidate.

Johnson will join the board of the Oregon Health & Science University, Kotek announced.

“I was delighted that (Kotek) thinks I can make a contribution at really a very important time in OHSU’s history,” Johnson said Monday.

Johnson’s been around the hospital for decades, she said, as a patient, a donor and board member for both the foundation and Doernbecher Children’s Hospital.
