BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) - Those who travel along Western Reserve Road this week will notice there's some long-awaited paving work taking place.
After weeks of delays because of rainy weather this spring, crews have finally begun the process of paving the stretch between Market Street and Hitchcock Road. They started the work on Monday, milling down several inches of temporary pavement to get ready to install the final layers of asphalt.
"They will mill that out, put the intermediate layer on. Today, they are probably on the westbound side doing the same or the middle, and eventually, they will come back with a surface, and their plan is to be completed by week's end," said Mahoning County Engineer Pat Ginnetti.
