Red Deer County council rejected a councillor's bid calling on administration to outline what it is doing to fix problems an auditor identified in county purchasing and procurement.
Coun. Brent Ramsay proposed a notice of motion last month calling on administration to create an implementation and action plan to address the problems identified.
Ramsay said an implementation and action plan "should address all the deficiencies identified in KPMG’s forensic audit report, and identify how each deficiency has been or is proposed to be addressed including the estimated resource requirements."
He suggested the plan should be presented to council at its Nov. 12 meeting, which would be the first meeting of the new council following the Oct. 20 municipal elections.
