The end of daylight saving time in the United States will hit a bit earlier than usual in 2025.

The one-hour clock shift when we “fall back” to standard time is set for 2 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 2. That is slightly earlier than average simply because the trigger for the change — the first Sunday in November — falls almost as early as it possibly could this year.

The earliest possible end to daylight saving time will come in 2026, when the first Sunday in November falls on Nov. 1.

Since 2007, daylight saving time has run from the second Sunday in March to the first Sunday in November, bringing later sunsets in the spring and summer months.
