FARGO — Upon further review, North Dakota State senior wide receiver Chris Harris isn’t out for the season. What was initially feared to be a season-ending foot injury was upgraded significantly this week to a few weeks, perhaps as soon as the Missouri Valley Football Conference opener at the end of the month.

Harris hurt the planter plate in his left foot, an ligament injury that happened during practice last week. He was running a route, planted and felt a pop in his foot.

“I was kind of preparing to hang it up for the year and focus on next year,” said Harris, a team captain. “I’m happy I get to come back and finish this thing off with the guys.”

He’ll miss Saturday’s home opener against Southeast Missouri State at Gate City Bank Field at the Fargodome. NDSU is off on Sept. 20 before
