KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A 41-year-old Independence, Missouri, man charged in the 2022 killing of a woman in Kansas City was arrested Tuesday in Cass County.

According to the Cass County Sheriff's Office, deputies, along with Kansas City police officers and the United States Marshals Service, arrested Richard Holliday at State Route 291 and 175th Street in Pleasant Hill around 12:45 p.m.

The sheriff's office said Holliday was wanted on two Jackson County warrants, one for homicide and another for burglary.

Jackson County prosecutors charged Holliday in 2023 with second-degree murder for the March 2022 killing of 38-year-old Sheryl Turley.
