SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) -- A Syracuse teacher has been charged with the rape of a 16-year-old.

According to the Syracuse Police Department, on Thursday, July 3, detectives with the Onondaga County Sheriff's Office Special Victims Unit received a report that a 16-year-old male had sexual contact with an older male on numerous occasions in 2025. The older male was later identified as 54-year-old Lansing Dimon.

After the victim was interviewed, it was determined that the incidents had taken place in the City of Syracuse. The investigation was then turned over to the Syracuse Police Department's Abused Persons Unit.

During the investigation, they learned that Dimon was employed as a teacher with the Syracuse City School District. The 16-year-old is not currently a student within the distri
