BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) -- Multiple people were seen climbing on top of the Brooklyn Bridge on Tuesday afternoon.

People could be seen standing on top of the bridge's pillar, and some were even moving up and down the support cables, according to a video shared on the Citizen App.

PIX11 News contacted the authorities, and the NYPD stated, "We are aware of people on top of the Brooklyn Bridge. An exercise is happening."

It remains unclear what type of exercise was being conducted.

No further information was available.
