VENICE, Fla. ( WWSB ) — The city of Venice will host a free self-service sandbag station on Sunday, Sept. 14, to help residents prepare for potential flooding.

The station will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 252 Seaboard Ave. Residents may receive free sand and empty bags, with a limit of 10 sandbags per vehicle.

Sarasota County holds ribbon-cutting for new pickleball courts at Ronald Foxworthy Campus

Sarasota County will operate additional stations during the same hours at:

South County Fleet, 4571 State Road 776, South Venice

Ed Smith Stadium, 2700 12th St., Sarasota

Twin Lakes Park, 6700 Clark Road, Sarasota

Residents must bring their own shovels and gloves to fill and load their sandbags. Supplies are first-come, first-served.
