FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - We didn’t experience record cold this morning (I didn’t hear any complaints!), but it was still chilly with lows in the low 40s.

Some mid and high-level clouds streamed in this afternoon, keeping temperatures slightly cooler than expected (mid to upper 70s versus near 80º). Some high clouds should linger into Wednesday as well, though 80º certainly seems within reach given our warmer night tonight.

Highs will steadily rise into the mid 80s by Friday, with warm conditions continuing into the weekend. The advertised cold front for Saturday night/Sunday morning looks a bit weaker, so there are some doubts about this being much of a rainmaker. Still, up to a quarter of an inch of rain is still possible.

Warm weather (primarily 80s!) looks likely into next week.
