SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Spirit Airlines passengers who have been looking forward to new flight routes to-and-from Savannah may have to wait a little longer to book their tickets.
The airline has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy for the second time in less than a year.
Spirit Airlines celebrated its inaugural flight at the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport Aug. 14.
Now, two of four planned routes have been put on pause as the airline plans for restructuring to “position the business for long term success.”
Spirit Airlines announced in April that it was bringing four new routes to the Savannah airport.
The first was a nonstop service between Savannah and Newark Liberty International Airport, which has already taken fight.
