The Naugatuck Valley Council of Governments will be hosting a series of meetings to present and discuss the design plans for nine projects across the region .
The nine projects form part of the Regional Flood Resilience Project; it includes parts of Ansonia, Middlebury, Naugatuck, Oxford, Seymour, Shelton, Thomaston, Waterbury and Wolcott.

The areas in each municipality were identified in the Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan, as they are areas prone to flooding, according to Craig Stevenson with NVCOG.
Tuesday’s meeting was scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. at Shelton’s City Hall where attendees learned about the suggested improvement projects for parts of Shelton and Ansonia.
