BROWNWOOD, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - A Brownwood man has been sentenced to two years in federal prison for creating AI images of minors engaging in sexual conduct.
According to the United States Attorney's Office, 42-year-old Daniel Weatherly pled guilty to possession of an obscene visual depiction of a minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct. He will also serve three years of supervised release and no contact with minors following prison time.
According to court documents, he used an app that generates AI images based on word prompts to create photos of minors, ages 5-8, engaging in sexual conduct. The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, with help from the North Port Police Department in Florida.
