Fresno police said officers arrested a man after finding firearms and ammunition during a search of a home in Fresno, the department said on Tuesday.

The Northwest District Safety Team and Investigations detectives served an evidentiary search warrant at a residence near Birch and Ila avenues, the department said.

After securing the home, investigators located two firearms and ammunition.

Police said the man, whose name was not released, was arrested on suspicion of being a felon in possession of firearms and ammunition.

He was booked into the Fresno County Jail.
