MONROE, La. (KNOE) - National Hunting and Fishing Day is fast approaching. It is celebrated on the fourth Saturday in September, just as it has for the last 40 years.
Attendees can put their sportsman skills to the test with shooting ranges, fishing ponds, and boating activities. There will be many chances for attendees to learn about wildlife with the live animal demonstrations. Events may vary
All events for National Hunting and Fishing Day will be free.
The first celebration was held at the Monroe regional office in 1982. Today, more than 10,000 people attend throughout the state.

Black Bayou Lake National Wildlife Refuge
Woodworth Shooting Range (8 am -1:30 pm)
Waddill Outdoor Education Center
