A Tasmanian seaside caravan park has become the centre of a bitter property dispute, leaving long-term residents unable to sell their homes and facing financial ruin.
Among them is 65-year-old Roslyn Grima, who spent years transforming her caravan into a $100,000 home – only to discover she may never be able to sell it.
Ms Grima, who is battling stage-four liver and pancreatic cancer, had hoped to sell her Beauty Point Tourist Park property to cover medical expenses.
But a council enforcement notice banning residential use of the park has left her and other residents trapped, unable to move on from homes they poured their savings into.
“It was an amazing place,” Ms Grima told the ABC.
“Now it’s my home, and I absolutely love it here. But I can’t sell it, and I don’t know what to do.”
