BERKELEY, Calif. -- A rare two-headed snake born at a Berkeley, California, pet store has died.
East Bay Vivarium says "Angel" and "Zeke" died one week ago, just one day before their first birthday.

They were California kingsnakes and their birth was a one in 100,000 occurrence.
The store owner had a cautious optimism about the snake's future.
Angel and Zeke had a visible bump where their spine forked.
According to the SF Chronicle , workers worried the subdominant snake might choke if it tried to eat.
The snake grew to more than 18 inches in its life.
