ILLINOIS ( 25News Now ) - A Bloomington-based health system is receiving federal funds to address drug addiction.
Rep. Eric Sorensen (IL-17) announced that Chestnut Health Systems is receiving a $1.1 million grant from the Department of Health and Human Services for research into drug addiction.
The money will be used to fund a center supporting research projects studying the barriers people in the criminal justice system face in accessing safe and effective drug treatment and recovery services, Soresen said.
