KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tech company TreisD announced its headquarters will be located in the University of Tennessee Research Park at Cherokee Farm in Knoxville.

The company specializes in 3D imaging. The two organizations have agreed to launch a "feasibility study" and create 3D models of sinkholes, a growing problem across East Tennessee.

They said the collaboration will leverage the company's technology and the park's resources.

The goal of the study is to create 3D models of sinkholes to help experts better understand the geological factors at play, TreisD chairman and founder Jerry Nims said. After exact models have been created, the company could look at creating predictive models, he said.
