SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) -- South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley has put his name in the hat to run for Congress.
KELOLAND's Tyler Louder spoke with Jackley earlier Tuesday before his campaign officially gets underway.
After four terms as Attorney General, Marty Jackley is looking to lead South Dakota as its next representative for Congress.
"Serving as South Dakota's United States Attorney and Attorney General has prepared me for Washington. It has prepared me to be able to work with other former Attorney Generals who serve in Washington to better protect South Dakotans," Jackley said.
While the campaign for Congress gets underway, Jackley still has 16 months left of work as the Attorney General. He says that his history and experience shows that he's able to balance both roles
