TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Tallahassee is a finalist for a national arts grant through the Levitt Foundation.

As part of the Levitt Music Series, communities from around the country submitted proposals for free, outdoor music events.

The winner will receive up to $120,000 in multi-year matching funds to present free outdoor concerts in an underused public space.

The Council on Culture and Art submitted a proposal in partnership with the Downtown Improvement Authority to bring live music to Lewis Park.

According to the proposal, COCA said Lewis Park, used for culturally significant events like the May Day Festival, has seen a decline in use and investment over the years.
